    Approximately 400 years have passed since the telescope invented by Galileo first observed the moon's surface. Currently, radio telescopes are able to observe distant objects by capturing even invisible electromagnetic waves. Until now, humans have discovered the possibilities of light in all kinds of ways. In this exhibition, we will use light as a means and attempt to observe it as an object. The location is on the roof of a building. The rules of observation are determined by the work. The works, which are seen as devices, make it possible to record unseen light.

    December 6, 2022 A few years ago, in the middle of winter in New York. In a flower bed in front of the Guggenheim Museum, a sparrow was digging a hole, rubbing its body against the soil, and was crouching down, its wings trembling. Marunouchi is lined with huge buildings, and many people come and go, but there is no sign of life. In a city where efficiency and tangible results are sought after, it seems difficult for the body, an ambiguous and incomprehensible living entity, to find a place for itself. Looking for a place that fits this space and time, like filling a new home with old furniture. This is not a proposal for unproductive idleness, but a more clear-minded practice of life, and it may be to turn "Sono Aida" into the hole that a sparrow once made.

    Koshiro Shikine and Kazuki Oishi will be presenting the process and results of the production they have been working on for a month, and Mao Nakagawa will be doing something from the list below during opening hours every day.

    What is there in the space between matter and matter? As there is gravitational force between the planets, there is a continuous empty space between the pen and the notebook. What is between us and the dry air of Bucharest? For example, humidity. Kazuki Oishi has spent the last two months in a residency at Sandwich, exploring local materials in connection with local physical phenomena. He uses sculpture as a tool for exploring what could exist in the empty space, as a medium to visualize ambiguous things. Clay, for instance, a material used in sculpture with the assumption that it will be replaced with another one during the casting process, changes its texture depending on air humidity. If "clay" should be moist and soft, then what is the "cracked clay" that has been dehydrated by the dry air of Bucharest and has become materially stable? Where did the moisture released into the air from the crevices of the clay cracks go? Maybe it begins to exist as a sculpture in the air between us.
