I was thinking about a country I have never been to. What kind of landscapes are there?

The poet Antanas Baranauskas’s poem The Forest of Anykščiai, a familiar poem to the public, showed me a landscape that I had not yet seen. The breath and vibrations of the Lithuanian forest of Anykščiai. The majestic roar of beasts, the ceaseless whispering of trees, the bursting sound of a swinging axe. It is the details of every living thing’s activity that are told in the poems, which paint a picture of the forest landscape that is perhaps more magical than the landscape we see in photographs.

From a distant land I see the Lithuanian forests. With my ‘sculpture’ of the forest of Aníkštěj I am now looking most closely at the forest landscape. And this is put in a suitcase and reaches to the foot of that forest.
